Privacy at Fred

This is a plain-language summary of how Fred handles your data. It is not the legal document: the binding privacy policy for Fireflies.ai Corp. is published at fireflies.ai/privacy-policy, and where the two differ, that policy governs. This page exists because “read the policy” is a poor answer to a straightforward question about a product that listens to your meetings.

What Fred stores

Fred does not create a separate copy of your meetings. It reads the recordings, transcripts and summaries that Fireflies already holds for your account, plus the conversations you have with Fred itself, which are retained so that a thread still makes sense when you come back to it. If you have connected email, Slack or calendar, Fred reads from those at the moment you ask it to and to carry out actions you request.

Who can see it

Fred operates as you and inherits your access exactly. It can reach the meetings you attended or were granted access to, and nothing else — there is no organisation-wide read, and other users cannot ask Fred about your calls. Your meeting content is not sold, and it is not used to train third-party models.

Getting your data removed

Deleting a meeting in Fireflies removes it from what Fred can reach. For a broader request — access to what is held about you, correction, or deletion of your account and its history — email [email protected]. The rights available to you depend on where you are; the full policy sets out the specifics for the EU, UK, Switzerland and California, along with retention periods.

Recording consent

Recording laws vary by jurisdiction and several require every participant’s consent. Fireflies announces itself when it joins a call, but responsibility for having the right to record a given meeting sits with the person who invited it. If you need a call left unrecorded, remove the notetaker before it starts.
