Fred — AI notetaker & actiontaker
Fred works across meetings, email, and Slack to answer questions and take action. Fred is the assistant built on Fireflies.ai, which records, transcribes and indexes your team’s meetings. Ask Fred what was decided on a call, what you agreed to do, or what a customer has been asking for across months of conversations, and it answers from your own meeting history rather than from the open web. What you can ask Fred
- Recall what was said. “What did we decide about pricing last week?” Fred searches the meetings you attended and answers with the moment it came from, so you can check it rather than take its word.
- Track your follow-through. “What am I on the hook for after today?” Fred pulls commitments out of the transcript and attributes them.
- Take the next action. Fred drafts the recap email, posts the Slack update, and books the follow-up in the tools you have already connected to Fireflies.
- Help during the call. While a meeting is running, Fred answers questions and captures actions without pulling you out of the conversation.
How your data is scoped
Fred acts for one signed-in user and can only reach meetings that user already has access to in Fireflies. It does not search other people’s calls, and there is no organisation-wide read. If a question falls outside what you can see, Fred says so instead of inventing an answer. Meeting content is not sold and is not used to train third-party models.
What Fred is not
Fred is scoped to your meeting history and the tools connected to it. It is the wrong instrument for general knowledge questions, market research, or anything requiring the open web. Asking Fred about a meeting you were not part of does not surface it: access follows the same sharing and privacy rules Fireflies applies everywhere else.
For developers and agents
Fred’s own interface needs a signed-in browser session and is not a programmatic entry point. Meeting data is available over the Fireflies GraphQL API at https://api.fireflies.ai/graphql, and Fred’s tools are callable over the Model Context Protocol. Authentication is a Fireflies API key sent as Authorization: Bearer <key>, issued per user and inheriting that user’s access.
