About Fred

Fred is an AI assistant for people whose work happens in meetings. It is built and operated by Fireflies.ai Corp., the company behind Fireflies.ai. Fireflies joins your calls, records and transcribes them, and builds a searchable history of what your team discussed. Fred is the layer on top of that history: instead of scrubbing a transcript, you ask a question and get an answer with the moment it came from.

What it does

Fred answers questions against your own meetings — what was decided, who committed to what, how a customer’s position has shifted over a quarter. It also acts on what it finds. Because it can reach the tools you have already connected to Fireflies, it can draft the follow-up email, post a recap into Slack, or put the next meeting on the calendar. During a live call it can answer questions and capture action items without pulling you out of the conversation.

What it can reach

Fred operates as one signed-in user at a time and inherits exactly that user’s access. It can read the meetings you attended or were given access to, along with the email, Slack and calendar context you have connected. It cannot read another person’s meetings, and it has no organisation-wide view. When a question falls outside what you can already see, Fred tells you rather than guessing. For developers and agents

Fred’s own interface is interactive and needs a signed-in session, so it is not a programmatic entry point. Software that needs meeting data should use the Fireflies GraphQL API, and agents that want to call Fred’s tools directly should use its MCP server. Both are documented on the developer page, and a machine-readable summary lives at /llms.txt.
